Thrud – Valkyrie Rising is a fast-paced action-roguelite set in the world of Norse mythology. As Thrud, the daughter of Thor, you must battle relentless hordes of enemies and massive bosses to prevent Ragnarök.
Combat is all about movement. Attacks automatically strike your enemies, allowing you to focus on precise dodges and tactical positioning to survive. Gather mythical runes, harness the power of the gods, and invest in unique skill trees to forge your own path to victory. Create powerful synergies, adapt your playstyle, and overcome every challenge that stands in your way.
History
First Steps
Thrud – Valkyrie Rising is our first large-scale project, built upon years of experience with
university projects and game jams. The idea for the game took shape in Fall 2023,
following the completion of an unnamed bullet-heaven prototype developed during our studies.
In February 2024, we secured funding from FFF Bayern and additional support from the
Free State of Bavaria, allowing us to develop a prototype under the working title
"Nordheim Survivor." This prototype was successfully completed between April 2024 and January 2025.
Since February 2025, we have been fully dedicated to bringing Thrud – Valkyrie Rising to completion.
